Sunday will NOT be complete if you have not tried to walk on the small alley on Jakarta's very own China Town. SAHABAT MUSEUM is once again presenting its interesting monthly program called:
PLESIRAN TEMPO DOELOE to CHINA TOWN

China Town (known as Chineesche Kamp) existed ever since the Batavia's social riot in 1740. During this period, when all Chinese were to be removed to other VOC's colony, Ceylon, rumors said that these Chinese were thrown out the ocean by the Dutch, so that the Chinese retaliated the Dutch inside Batavia's fort.
After the incident, VOC thus placed the Chinese outside the fort of Batavia, in Glodok area to be exact.
With a longer walking tour this month, a fit - healthy body is required, as the tour might take about two hours walking, with detail program as shown below :
